Increase The Chance Of Finding A Job

           Are You Unemployed?

Are you unemployed or just graduated and can't find a job yet?
Are you Starting to get worried about your future?
Don't be afraid because after reading this guide your chance of finding a job will be much higher than it used to be.

Do You Know Why You Can't Find a Job?

Before you know how to find a job you must first know what is preventing you from finding one in the first place. The following are some of the possible reasons:
  • There are limited or no job opportunities: The difference between high rate of unemployment and lack of job opportunities is that in the first case there will be some job opportunities available but they are limited in number. This means that only the best will get these jobs. In the second case, even if you were the best you still won't be able to get a job.
  • High Unemployment:: Some countries have high unemployment rates
  • Lack of necessary skills: Simply put, you don’t have the required skills to get you the kind of job you want. For example, you're not going to be able to work as a secretary without knowing a little about computers.
  • You don’t know how to present yourself: If you have poor interview skills, poor communication skills or poor resume writing skills then you might have trouble finding a suitable job. In this case, your problem is that although you are qualified, you don’t know how to present yourself to others.

What to Do in Order to Get a Job

Lets take the above cases one by one and decide how we are going to deal with each case:
  • There are limited or no job opportunities: First of all, you should know that this case is very rare and that its always confused with the case of high unemployment. I once had an Egyptian friend who couldn't find a job after graduation. This person had no special skills or additional knowledge that could differentiate him from others.
My friend’s problem was that he was totally convinced that there were no job opportunities in the country!!!
He thought that the problem lied with the country while in reality the problem was with him!! Of course we had a high unemployment rate then but this doesn't mean that a real good person won't be able to find a job.
The belief that “there are no job opportunities in this town” was a false belief that prevented my friend from doing his homework.
  • High unemployment rate: As previously mentioned, a high unemployment rate doesn’t mean that you won't find a job but it just means you need to do a little more effort in order to get the job. Differentiating yourself from others is very easy: Just learn more skills than your peers. Learn another language, learn a programming language or take any additional course. Each small action that you take will differentiate you from others a bit more and so your chance of finding a job will become much higher.
  • Lack of necessary skills: If that’s your case then what are you waiting for?
Why don’t you go and start working on those missing skills right now? For example, if you want to work as an accountant then you have to know how to use spreadsheet software like Excel. What would you expect the interviewer to say if you told him that you know nothing about it?
  • You don’t know how to present yourself: This is the easiest problem to solve. If you are already qualified and ready for the job then you only need to learn to present yourself. Skip to the communication skills section (below) and you will find all the necessary information on how to improve your communication skills within a few weeks.
